A Remembrance through Music

featuring Haydn – Mass in Time of War, and other works

Sunday, November 12 at 2:00 pm in West Vancouver United Church

Tickets: $35 Adults, $30 Seniors / Students

Haydn’s Mass in Time of War is one of the most popular of his fourteen mass settings. It is also known also as the Paukenmesse due to the dramatic use of timpani. This piece has been long thought to express an anti-war sentiment, even though there is no clear indication from Haydn that this was his intention. It is certainly debatable because most of the mass is of a lyrically joyful nature.

On Tour

Touring is a also a major focus of our group: we have completed five tours to Europe in the past ten years. Our last tour, in May 2015, was in France and Spain. On that tour, in Barcelona, we sang in Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia whose concert organizer deemed us the “finest choir to have sung there in the last five years”.

Our next tour was scheduled to take place early in May 2018 but has had to be postponed to May 2018 when we plan to sing in Holland, Belgium and France (Paris).

More details of previous tours can be viewed by clicking here.
